Farrah offers a new workshop each month exploring the many forms of Egyptian dance and dance theatre. Exploring techniques and combinations, performance and theatre skills, as well as information on cultural background, costuming and music, these workshops often include video clips to further your knowledge and understanding. Workshops are open to members of the public and located at Amera’s Palace in Marrickville. We look forward to welcoming you.

Fun with Simsimmiyya (Port Said) with Paivi

This upbeat and energetic dance from the Suez area is what you need to brighten up your autumn Sunday! We will look at the foundations and history of the style, try out some steps and combinations, a bit of clapping and introduce the fun prop, spoons!
Level – Beyond Beginners and Up
Time: 2-4pm (1.30pm set-up / meet and greet for 2pm start)
Venue: Amera’s Palace, level 2, 314 Marrickville Rd, Marrickville
Cost: $25 Cash only ($15 concession/unwaged)

Farrah welcomes new talent, whether you’ve got Egyptian dance in your blood or just have a thirst to learn more. Membership is open to all dancers (from Beyond Beginner level and up), regardless of experience or background – so long as you share the desire to enrich your knowledge and understanding of the dance!
